FİKRİYE & LATIFE “ICH LIEBTE MUSTAFA KEMAL”

FİKRİYE & LATIFE

Fikriye-Latife-713x1024A Story of Love, History, and Passion

The play FİKRİYE & LATIFE “I LOVED MUSTAFA KEMAL” was written and performed by Dilruba Saatçi. It narrates the love, passion, and struggles of two women — Fikriye and Latife — who played notable roles in the life of Mustafa Kemal, the founder of the Republic of Türkiye.

Dilruba Saatçi embodied both creator and performer: through acting, dance, and dramatic presence, she elevated the work’s artistic expression. Under the direction of Bülent Muşdu, the production adopted a contemporary narrative style. The musical score was composed by Hasan Yükselir.

This ambitious project was realized through the dedicated production efforts of Özlem Ş. Weber. Between the 2004–2006 seasons, the musical toured across Türkiye and several European cities, presenting its powerful story to diverse audiences.

“Presented and staged in a manner suitable for our era, the musical ‘I Loved Mustafa Kemal’ introduces two women from Kemal Pasha’s life who were exceptionally educated, knowledgeable, and modern thinkers for their time: FİKRİYE and LATIFE.” Bülent Muşdu
